The Energy & Geoscience Institute is a research organization within the University of Utah.  EGI's geothermal research group focuses on developing new technology for exploration, reservoir delineation, and production of resources in the Western United States, Latin America, and Southeast Asia. EGI scientists and engineers have been assisting the DOE and the U.S. industry by developing better ways to locate geothermal resources in the subsurface and site wells to intersect the reservoir's plumbing system. The program also manages the Geothermal Sample Library and has a number of currently active research and development projects that are briefly described on their web site.  Joe Moore is the NGDS Associate Director for Industry Relations and EGI is a founding partner of the NGDS.
